Illustration Friday - "Choose"

The topic this week at Illustration Friday is "Choose". I had some free time this afternoon to do these portraits of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. It seems as though the choice between these two for the Democratic nomination is becoming more and more unsure, especially after this week's Super Tuesday primaries and caucuses. It may even come down to the choice of merely 800 "Super Delegates" to break a near tie, which I happen to be opposed to. I think the nomination should be based on the popular vote, and not on the whims of relatively few high-ranking party officials!
But I digress... I've been wanting to draw these two for a while now, and the "choose" topic seemed to give me a good reason. If this was a commission I would probably redo Hillary, but I'm pretty happy with how Barack turned out.

These are wonderful portraits, very nice style and line work.
I like the quirkiness of these portraits, they add character to the subject without moving into caricature.
Very nice characatures; they are stylized yet have a great likeness, meaning look who they are supposedto, to them.
I almost did the same idea for If but decided there was not much of a choice.
These are awesome--tough choice too, but currently I'm leaning toward Obama!
Tim - these are really good - particularly your Obama. And your thoughtful comments are interesting to read along with.
Great! I love your style!
Good idea. I like the Obama one, especially.
Really nice. Obama is my favorite--of the two portraits!

Really, really clever interpretation of the theme.
Really nice depictions-- realistic with just enough stylization.
I agree with you about who the power should rest with, but I have to say I like all this uncertainty because it means Ohio's late primary will actually have some weight. (In years past, everything's decided by the time I get to vote, which leaves a sour taste of disenfranchisement in my mouth.)
excellent, excellent portraits. you really captured them both. :)
